When planning your new kitchen it is almost mandatory to install a dishwasher. At the very least you should make provision so that the installation of a future dishwasher will be as simple as possible.
The two most important features of your new dishwasher should be the ability to 'wash and dry' and quietness. There is no doubt that the European dishwashers are the most efficient in terms of energy and water usage with some that even measure the turbidity of the wash water and if able will reuse this water in the rinsing cycles. It even decides on the temperature required to gain maximum results thereby ensuring only the minimum amount of power is used.
Some use fans for drying which means they dry faster and at lower temperatures, again a saving in energy use.
Dishwashers come as either Free Standing or Integrated. Free Standing can be just that or they can be built under the bench.
They are available in White, Black or Stainless Steel. Integrated dishwashers are available as Semi integrated which means the control panel is exposed and is available in Stainless Steel, White, Black or Aluminium and a door of the same finish as the rest of the kitchen can be fitted. They also come as Full Height Integrated which means that the control panel is concealed and the complete dishwasher door is the same as the rest of the kitchen.
Dishwashers are available as a Single Drawer, or in 45cm or 60cm widths.
